Un Corpo di Segni: Exhibition
Filippo Tincolini participated with the sculpture *"Hand of Justice"* in the exhibition *"A Body of Signs. Symbols, Sacredness, Knowledge"* (Pisa, July 25 - October 6, 2024). This work not only closely aligns with the exhibition's theme, which explores the human body as a vehicle for sacred and symbolic knowledge through the centuries, but it also brings an additional layer of meaning due to its inspiration from Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet, an iconic element of the Marvel character. The gesture of the raised index finger, echoing Leonardo's *Salvator Mundi*, is imbued with power and fatality, representing a universal and definitive judgment. In this way, Tincolini, skillfully intertwining elements of contemporary pop culture with artistic tradition, creates a bridge between ancient and modern that resonates deeply within the exhibition’s narrative. It offers a contemporary perspective on the enduring relevance of symbols and their evocative power over time.
