Daredevil is reborn. Filippo Tincolini’s sculpture at the Milan Disney+ in major virtual tunnel.: Exhibition Event
Filippo Tincolini showcases his sculpture at the Milan event organized for the debut of "Daredevil: Rinascita", the new Marvel Television series on Disney+.
On Wednesday, March 5th, in the underground heart of Milan, Filippo Tincolini took part in An Underground Street-Art Exhibition, an event organized to celebrate the debut of Daredevil: Rebirth on Disney+. The artist presented his new marble sculpture, The Silent Law, inspired by Daredevil’s iconography. The event took place in the suggestive Major Virtual Tunnel, an unused metropolitan tunnel requalified and reinvented, which, with its underground charm, evoked and enveloped all attendees in the atmosphere of Hell’s Kitchen. The innovative space hosted an extraordinary experiential exhibition for one night, which, besides Tincolini, also featured influential names from contemporary street art such as Art of SOOL, Davide Vavalà, and Handjobberz, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the underground world of the series through a blend of urban art, dark atmospheres, and street culture.
What the artist presented was a Daredevil who has been, who is reborn, and who is preparing for new challenges. With his distinctive sculptural language, Tincolini reinterpreted the hero’s helmet as an archaeological find. The work depicts Daredevil’s mask, a symbol of his transformation, isolating the essence of the masked vigilante and showing the cracks and the "broken horn" of the mask as signs of a tormented past that has been overcome, not destroyed. The mask, once found, represents the Daredevil of the past, a hero marked by his battle against crime and his moral challenges, yet rather than being annihilated, he has been reborn and is ready for new challenges. The wear and tear, the cracks, and the patina of time give the helmet an air of antiquity and mystery, as if the work had just been discovered among the ruins of an ancient civilization. This style celebrates the connection between the past and present, highlighting the timeless heroism of the character. The work also ties into the theme of the TV series, where Daredevil "rebirths," inviting viewers to reflect on change and the ability to overcome the past to embrace a better future. The work is part of Ancient Gods Artworks a series of sculptures that merges classical mythology with the world of contemporary superheroes in Carrara marble, with each sculpture being later painted and/or patinated by the artist. In this specific work, Daredevil's helmet is imagined by the artist as an archaeological relic.
