 Filippo Tincolini is what one could define as a modern artist, where modernity is understood as the ability to draw from tradition to create the new, firmly anchored on one side to everyday life, and on the other to the past, in a continuous and coherent narrative. The aesthetic result of this are, among other masterpieces, his Spacemen: astronauts who yearn for cosmic space but remain firmly connected to nature, with their floral details.

Filippo masterfully combines classical sculpture with the possibilities offered by new technologies, such as 3D printers and robots. His story is tied to a visceral passion for marble that began during his time at the art high school in Lucca, where he also had the opportunity to work with other traditional materials like gold, bronze, wood, and ceramics. Then came the discovery of Pietrasanta, a place rich in culture and historic workshops, where he refined his skills, and finally, the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara, renowned for its ancient tradition of marble carving. Here, working closely with master craftsmen and expert artists, Filippo began creating works that combine classical techniques with innovative approaches.
