Filippo Tincolini Unveils “Spacemen Shiny & Toys” in Capri: Art Meets Exploration and Color

Federico Pazzagli, Exibart, October 6, 2024

In the enchanting setting of Capri, Tuscan artist Filippo Tincolini has unveiled his latest exhibition, “Spacemen Shiny & Toys”, a project that celebrates the union of pop aesthetics and contemporary sculpture. Hosted by the Liquid Art System gallery, the event presents visually striking works that engage with both space and the viewer.

At the heart of the exhibition stands the Spaceman, Tincolini’s stylized astronaut—a symbol of humanity’s constant push toward the unknown. Crafted in chromed resin and painted in fluorescent hues of yellow, blue, and fuchsia, the astronaut shines brightly, drawing the eye with its glossy surfaces and vibrant colors. The playful and contemporary aesthetic of the works contrasts with a deeper reflection on exploration, progress, and the eternal human desire to transcend limits, both physical and mental.

Capri, with its timeless charm and rich artistic history, provides the ideal stage for the installation. Tincolini’s works, suspended between past and future, form a bridge between tradition and innovation, combining sculptural craftsmanship with the freshness of contemporary experimentation.

The “Spacemen Shiny & Toys” exhibition marks an important chapter in Tincolini’s research. Through the “Flowered Soul” series, he explores the relationship between nature, technology, and collective imagination. With his sculptures, Tincolini invites the viewer to reflect on universal themes such as space exploration, sustainability, and the fragile balance between progress and roots.

Open throughout the summer at Liquid Art System, the exhibition offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in Filippo Tincolini’s creative universe. Featuring iconic works and new interpretations, the artist continues to develop a visual language that, through clean lines and bold colors, celebrates art as a meeting place between dreams, materiality, and innovation.
